The Challenge
A VP at a global winery brand identified a potential idea while visiting a competitor winery: custom cufflinks offered as a refined, memorable gift.
She believed the concept could translate into a meaningful giveaway for sales representatives across the U.S., but the execution needed to be elevated, brand-appropriate, and scalable. Having worked together previously, she reached out with a simple ask — “Can you take care of this?”
The Solution
The Metric Group led the project from concept through mass production using a staged, approval-driven process.
The engagement began with concept development and visual rendering, translating the initial inspiration into a cufflink design aligned with the brand’s aesthetic. Once approved, the design moved into CAD development, followed by a 3D-printed prototype that allowed for physical review and refinement.
After sign-off on the printed prototype, a metal prototype cufflink was produced to validate materials, finish, and weight. With final approval secured, full-scale production began.
To complete the program, custom gift boxes were designed and produced, creating a cohesive, presentation-ready set suitable for nationwide distribution.
The Result
● A fully custom cufflink design developed from concept to production
● Multiple prototype stages ensuring confidence before mass manufacturing
● Coordinated production of both product and packaging
● Finished gift sets distributed to sales representatives across the U.S.
The final result delivered a refined, brand-aligned gift that felt intentional, premium, and worthy of a national sales team.
Why It Mattered
High-touch gifts carry brand equity risk. By using a deliberate, prototype-led process, the winery brand was able to move forward with confidence knowing the final product had been reviewed, refined, and approved at every stage.
